Preparing Educators to Lead in a Data-Driven, AI-Powered World

Digital Frontier Teachers

Digital Frontier Teachers is a national professional development program launching in Summer 2026 to help K–12 educators bring data science and artificial intelligence into their classrooms.

Funded by the National Science Foundation and led by Data Science 4 Everyone and the Computer Science Alliance, this weeklong in-person training will support teachers across subjects—math, science, CS, and social studies—in building the skills, confidence, and community needed to teach emerging technologies in real and meaningful ways.

Program Highlights

  • Held at New Mexico State University in Summer 2026, this in-person training will bring together over 100 educators from across the U.S. to dive into practical strategies for teaching AI and data science.

  • This program is designed not just for computer science teachers but also for educators in math, science, and social studies—helping integrate tech fluency into subjects where students least expect it.

  • You’ll walk away with concrete, age-appropriate tools, lesson plans, and instructional models that can be implemented immediately—no extra prep required.

  • Participants will join a Digital Professional Learning Community (PLC) to continue sharing ideas, reflecting on teaching practices, and receiving support throughout the school year.

  • Educators will receive CEU credits through a new digital credential system supported by the University of Chicago and CSTA, providing portable recognition for teaching cutting-edge tech.
